Checking the oil in a 335i is fairly easy and should be done once a month. Then press the bc button on the end of the same stalk.

You can bump up the rocker switch on the turn signal stalk until it displays oil depress the button on the end of the stalk and it will show a min max graphic and a little clock while it calculates the oil level although mine always takes so long it times out and goes back to the standard display and i have to hit it again usually 3 4. Otherwise the dipstick will read slightly low.
